Classic Black & White

Image
Hello Everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday!  I was out last night walking off all the food I ate, lol.  These are some of my newest creations from last night.....I LOVE black and white photography!  See if you can recognize where each photo was taken. :) K

Holiday Lights in the Snow

Image
Hi Everyone! I hope everyone stayed safe, warm and dry during Storm Ashford last night.  The roads got a little treacherous during the evening so hopefully many, if not all of you, were off the roads. The holiday lighting was mesmerizing against the snow last night.  I was fortunate enough to get a couple of shots in before the snow picked up.  I am loving all the beautiful lighting and the creativity that I'm seeing.  It is definitely looking like Winter Wonderland!  There will be more to come, so stay tuned.  Don't be surprised if you see YOUR lighting next! Til next time, K

Night Shooting

Image
Hi Everyone, I'm relatively new to shooting at night and I find that I enjoy it.  One of the things I love most about photography is that I'm constantly learning something new. Despite the cold, its like a whole other world at night because there are people out and about but everyone is on a more relaxed level.  People are out strolling, jogging, walking their pets and just generally taking their time.  The pace is much different that what we see during the day. Tonight, I went back out and wanted to play around with the Capitol.  This is what I came up with....hope you enjoy and stay tuned! :) K

Winter Nightlife In The Bushnell Park

Image
It may be chilly, and it may be dark but there is plenty of nightlife in The Bushnell Park.  To the right and to the left all you can see are lights.  The carousel is covered in lights, the trees are lit and in the distance is the beautifully lit Capitol, very picturesque.  Last, but not least, is the ice skating rink in the park for everyone's enjoyment.  People of all ages were ice skating and having a great time....and guess what?  There is no cost.  No cost to skate and no cost for the use of the skates.  No need to be concerned about safety as Hartford Police is on the scene supervising the entire time as well as "Staff" on the rink.  A concession stand is nearby for snacks and hot beverages.  I grabbed a coffee for $1.00 while I watched and shot. It was a beautiful night and I truly enjoyed seeing parents with small children, couples, and lots of young people out having fun.  If you get a chance, come out and see for yourself.....I may see you there!:) K
