Wethersfield Cove

Image
Last week, the weather was still on the dismal side but the temperature was bearable so I went down to the Cove in Wethersfield.  Surprisingly, I wasn't the only one down there but I was the only one out there with a camera.  I imagine those that were there were wondering what on earth could I have been photographing?  I can't blame them because at first nothing really caught my eye.  I've been down to the Cove a few times but its usually during the summer so everything looked very different.  At first all I saw were the birds hunting for fish and I wasn't too interested in that.  I turned to the left and saw a structure that I didn't recall seeing before.  I'm sure its always been there but most likely I've never noticed because the trees were covering it and I'm usually focusing on the water activity.  This is what I saw...... Take a moment and double click on the sign above that gives you a little background history into the Cove. Its r

Working with Fog

Image
I've always found fog to be interesting.  It can give an aura of mystery to a scene, can be dangerous depending on its density and can make it appear as if you're in a whole other world once you are engulfed in it.  I took some pictures in the fog the other day, take a look: Normally, I prefer to shoot in black and white but I felt that had I done these in black and white I would have lost the look of the picture that I was going for.  I like seeing the contrast against the softness of the fog. I hope to have more opportunities to work with the fog so be on the lookout! Til next time, K

Meet Henry

Image
Hello Everyone, I'm so excited to share with you one of the most fabulous photo sessions I had the pleasure of doing!  Meet Henry......he's almost 9 months old and is absolutely the cutest and happiest little boy I've ever photographed. The session was done at Hillstead Museum in Farmington.  This was my first time at this museum and let me tell you, it is beautiful!  Henry's parents chose to have him photographed here because of how scenic it is.  The weather wasn't too cold, but still had quite a bit of snow on the ground.  Henry was excited the moment I walked up to him and said hello.  He giggled and gave me one of his big, beautiful smiles.  He was very animated, cheerful and an extreme pleasure to work with.  See for yourself......... At the end of the session, I took a family photo with Mom and Dad..... They are just the cutest family! To see more photos of Henry, be sure and visit my website at www.klamarphotography.com.
