My Inspiration

Image
Hello Everyone, Are you ready for Spring?  I know I am!  Hang in there....just a little bit longer. Someone asked me yesterday what makes me take certain picture, i.e. do I randomly take pictures, just because.  That's an interesting question, yes and no.  I'll be honest, a lot of times I have no idea what I'm going to come up with until I've done it.  Other times, I may leave the house with something specific in mind and just head there.  Not all my pictures are picture perfect either.  There have certainly been afternoons where I've been out for hours and then I'm not happy with even one shot I took.  Do I consider it a waste?  Absolutely not!  I'm doing what I love and I'm happy with it, not to mention I'm constantly learning what works for me and what doesn't. Here's an example of something I did randomly: You've seen these two pictures and I'm using them as examples because I've gotten many positive responses o

Beauty in the Sky

These were taken late Sunday evening on the way home....enjoy! There is just something very pretty about the moon being out when its still partially daylight. The clouds are holding the reflection of the sunset and look like a mountain in the distance behind the trees. Finally, the sun sets and we have the illuminating moon....it was a beautiful night. Good night..... K

Peaceful Winter Scenes

Hi Everyone! We certainly had interesting weather this weekend!  It was unbelievably warm on Saturday but rainy all day and then Sunday had sun but was cold, lol.  It was my intention to go ice skating on Sunday, and I did go to the Bushnell Park, however it was so windy and cold that I just gave up that idea.  It was like a wind tunnel.  There were alot of people there though.  If you want to skate, you need to do it in the next two weeks because it shuts down February 1. Since I didn't skate, I went off to find other places to photograph: The Connecticut River is covered with ice.....this was taken this past Sunday and the ice was beginning to break up.  Pay close attention to the bridge that you see in the background. Here's another photograph of the river where I chose to get more creative by taking the shot on an angle as a bird was flying by. Remember the bridge that you saw in the first photo?  Here it is seen from the road at one end of it.  I

Warm Thoughts

Brrrr.....by now I think we must all be ready for the warmer weather.  Its been unbearably cold and I hope everyone is home and warm.  I want to share some of my older pictures that I've taken in the warmer weather to help get your minds off of how cold it is.  These photos are also things that I'm looking forward to in the Spring and Summer.  Summer is by far my favorite season....my mind goes crazy with ideas and I'm always out with the camera.  The days are longer, there are beautiful sunsets and more people are out and about. For me, its like "What to shoot next?" lol.   So here are a few photos that will give you an idea of what I do in the warmer weather. Something I love to do is go camping in Rhode Island and I go just about every summer... this place is known as Dutch Point Island.  Its a little island that is located right off of Jamestown.  Its close enough to Jamestown that you can canoe to it, however the water is rather choppy, so that's n
