Beavertail Lighthouse & Park - Jamestown, Rhode Island

Hi Everyone,

Its been a little while, my apologies....its been a great summer! One of my favorite places to visit is Beavertail Lighthouse and Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island.  I went a couple of times this summer and each time I go is like being there for the first time.

The lighthouse was built in 1856 and separates the East and West Passages of the Narragansett Bay.  There is a lighthouse museum and you can go up into the top of the lighthouse.  The park itself is beautiful with grassy, wooded and rocky areas to explore.  There are also walking and biking trails.

Beavertail is known to also host many weddings and provides beautiful scenery for wedding photos.

Although I don't typically do wedding photographs, I couldn't resist capturing this beautiful little girl.  She was so active and simply adorable in her dress.....she was in pictures with the rest of the bridal party but then kind of strolled off and played by herself.

Strolling away
Dancing by herself...

I mostly climb the rocks and find peaceful places to sit and watch other people or boats.

This is the top of the lighthouse taken in the late afternoon after the museum was closed.  I like this picture in particular because the light happened to be on.
I was sitting on the rocks and captured a fellow photographer that was shooting while her companion read a book.  You really could spend all day sitting out on these rocks...its peaceful, refreshing, romantic and so much more.
Another shot of a bird in flight.....

The Jamestown & Newport Ferry....I haven't been on it yet but maybe next time.

Check back soon for more pictures of what I've been up to this summer :)

Til next time,
K
