Beautiful Glastonbury

Hi Everyone! Can you believe this weather?  Frigid, below temps one minute then a quick warm up and back to the cold again.  Its not as bad as it was this past weekend but cold nonetheless.  Hopefully, Spring is just around the corner. I've been out exploring again and this time ended up in the Town of Glastonbury.  I grew up there but its been awhile since I've been out exploring the area.  One of my favorite spots is down at the Ferry Landing, the nation's oldest operating ferry service that crosses the Connecticut River between Glastonbury and Rocky Hill. The ferry doesn't operate in the winter months but I still come down here from time to time just to enjoy the scenery.  There are benches and picnic tables for anyone to come down and relax, read a book or have lunch.  This view is from the Glastonbury side looking over into Rocky Hill.  In the warmer months you are able to walk out on the landing to the right of the piers and sit. ...

The Wonders of Social Media

Hi Everyone, I'm sure most of you are on one or more of the social media sites, its kind of hard not to be these days.   Social media has pretty much taken over.  I enjoy social media and use different sites for different purposes. Let's start with the beginning, Facebook.....Facebook is a great tool keep in touch with family and friends near and far.  Its also a good tool to use in terms of showcasing any interests that you may have, along with creating new friendships via the many, many groups that are on there.  I have gotten to know many talented photographers on Facebook through groups that I've elected to join.  You have the option of creating your very own personal page or creating a Business Fan Page.  There is also the capability of linking the two pages or linking the two but having two very different audiences depending on what settings you create with respect to who you allow access to.  The really cool part about Facebook is that ...
